University Assistant Prae-Doc (all genders)

30 hours/week | limited to 4 years

At the Institute of Information Systems Engineering, in the Software Engineering research group, TU Wien is offering a position as university assistant prae-doc (all genders) limited to expected 4 years for 30 hours/week. Expected start: October 2026.

Tasks:

  • Contribute to research and teaching activities as well as examinations
  • Contribute to Software Engineering teaching in German and English
  • Supervise students (e.g., Bachelor’s and master’s theses)
  • Participate in research and project activities
  • Deepen your scientific and academic expertise
  • Write a doctoral dissertation and academic publications
  • Participate in scientific conferences and other academic events
  • Contribute to organizational and administrative tasks

Your profile:

  • Completion of a relevant Master’s or Diploma degree program (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, etc.)
  • Experience with academic and scientific work (e.g., through a Master’s thesis or an initial publication)
  • Advanced knowledge in the relevant subject area (not a mandatory requirement)
  • Excellent command of English
  • Interest in research in the field and in working with students
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, strong problem-solving skills, and a capacity for innovation

Entry level salary is determined by the pay grade B1 of the Austrian collective agreement for university staff. This is a minimum of currently EUR 2,832.10/month gross, 14 times/year for 30 hours/week. Relevant working experiences may increase the monthly income.
