As a Simulation Engineer, you'll help shape the next generation of Leica Geosystems' high-precision products. By using advanced multi-physics simulations and virtual prototyping, you'll turn complex engineering challenges into innovative solutions long before the first physical prototype is built.

  • Support product development through multi-physics numerical simulations (structural linear/non-linear, shock & drop, thermal, fluid, electromagnetic, and multi-body dynamics)
  • Collaborate with Hexagon teams worldwide to accelerate innovation and development cycles
  • Set up high-accuracy FEA models tailored to precision instrument requirements
  • Contribute to research and technology projects focusing on simulation-driven development
  • Develop and refine simulation methods and modelling techniques to continuously expand our capabilities
  • Build automated toolchains and evaluation pipelines using scripting (e.g. Python)
  • Evaluate, benchmark, and advance commercial and open-source solvers to meet specific application needs
  • Work in a highly specialized international simulation team, collaborating with experts from various engineering disciplines
 

This is you

  • University degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in numerical simulation (FEA, multi-physics, or related areas)
  • Solid understanding of physics and numerical methods
  • Experience in mechanical design and productisation is an advantage
  • Experience with or an affinity for process automation (e.g. Python scripting)
  • Knowledge of MSC Software tools, LS-DYNA and Siemens NX is beneficial
  • Strong communication skills with an interest in mutual learning and knowledge sharing
  • Passionate about simulation engineering and motivated by solving complex technical challenges
  • Fluent in English; German is nice to have
  • Hands-on, proactive, with a collaborative mindset while also being able to work independently
